Royal Southern Brotherhood Announce New Lineup

Royal Southern Brotherhood will enlist the help of guitarists Bart Walker and Tyrone Vaughan for their third studio release, recorded at FAME Studios located along the Tennessee River in Muscle Shoals. Vaughan hails from extensive rock lineage as the son of blues guitarist Jimmie Vaughan and nephew of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Walker, a Nashville native, is a classically trained guitarist who has collaborated with the likes of Mike Farris and Reese Wynan before focusing on a solo career. The two new guitarists will replace Mike Zito and Devon Allman, who decided to concentrate on their solo careers. Zito left the band in October of 2014 and Devon’s last performance with the RSB will be at the Wanee Festival in Live Oak, FL in mid-April. Currently, the group is still supporting their latest release heartsoulblood with dates throughout the winter and early spring months. The current lineup features Cyril Neville along with Allman, Bart Walker, Yonrico Scott and Charlie Wooton.

Danish Music Awards

Danish Music AwardCongratulations to Thorbjørn Risager & The Black Tornado! On September 24th, at a ceremony during the first evening of the 2014 edition of Copenhagen Blues Festival, the winner of this year's "Danish Music Award" in the recently reinstated Blues category was announced. The band received this price two years in a row now, this time for their record "Too Many Roads" that was released in March 2014 on Ruf Records.

"It feels incredibly good, it's an immense acknowledgement to get this prize again. And we are of course very happy that it's exactly this album that gets the prize, since we think it's the best album that we have made so far. It was a really strong field that we were up against, I guess we can say that it's the Danish blues elite. So we are immensely proud!", said Risager after the announcement.

On tour: Mike Zito & Samantha Fish

Mike and Samantha2009 Blues Music Award winner Mike Zito is one of those rare artists that can sing like nobody’s business, can write songs that instantly grip you, play one hell of a mean Gulf Coast style guitar and has the stage presence to draw in any audience. Besides two own releases with his band The Wheel and as part of the Royal Southern Brotherhood, he recently worked as a producer with Samantha Fish on her new album  Black Wind Howlin’. In November Samantha appeared as special guest during the German tour of the Royal Southern Brotherhood.
